Crazy golf during coronavirus at Laser Quest in Sunderland

We live in Sunderland and love crazy golf so how on earth did it take us a whole year to discover there was a crazy golf course in Sunderland?  Well, it seemed to pass us by completely. However, rest assured that once we found out about it, we went to play a game.

It's at Laser Quest in the city centre and it's played in the dark so everything - even the sticks and balls - glow in the dark.

We were the only players on the course on the day that we went. And as it was during the coronavirus pandemic, we had to take security measures on our way in and out.  We had our temperatures taken on the way in and were encouraged to use hand sanitiser provided at the entrance. We also had our details taken for track and trace purposes too.  Once all of this had been done, we were led into a vast space for a game of 12 holes in the dark.

It was fun, as crazy golf tends to be, and we enjoyed playing there a lot. The theme was spaceships and aliens and the eerie glowing images added something to playing in the dark.

What was even more eerie however, was playing during the coronavirus pandemic and being the only players in the place on the day that we went. This meant that there was an end of the world feel to the game, which wasn't entirely due to the neon glow of the aliens painted on the walls. It was spooky and sinister ... and great fun all rolled into one.
