Seaside Los Jameos mini golf, Lanzarote

To Lanzarote on holiday and our hotel has a beautiful mini golf course in its beautiful grounds.

It's a deceptively tricky course with some inclines and one hole across a path.

Wednesday afternoon is mini golf tournament time where you can play a round with the animation team against other guests. It's a lot of fun.

Here are some of our pictures.

Forbidden Temple mini golf, Lanzarote

To Lanzarote on holiday and a game of mini golf ⛳ at the Forbidden Temple. This is opposite the San Antonio hotel on the outskirts of Puerto del Carmen. And what a joy it was.

We had lunch and a beer in the shady cafe then played a round of the 15 holes. Scores were Flaming Nora 51, Sunny Jim 62. It was a fun, fast course with a few tricky surprises.

We enjoyed it so much and lunch had been delicious so we stayed for desserts in the shape of alcoholic milkshakes. Wow. Definitely worth a visit if you're on the island. Good WiFi and great reggae music too.

Here are some of our pictures.

Junkyard Golf Club, Newcastle

This might qualify as one of the most weird and unsettling games we've ever played.

Scrap that. It WAS the most weird and unsettling game we've played.

Loud music, flashing lights, bizarre sets left us feeling queasy and unsteady for about an hour after leaving the building. On the plus side, it was fun, there were some great holes and even a slide!

However, flickering fluorescent lights in this enclosed indoor space really got to us and it became unpleasant to stay.

The slide! Woohoo!

Glitter ball.

We played two of the three courses. These were named and themed. Bozo was funfair and clowns, Gary was sort-of Only Fools and Horses and a third round, Pablo, was jungle based. We left after playing Bozo and Gary, with the wristbands to prove it. Our heads were fried and our legs were shaking after the onslaught of the bizarre lights so didn't stay to play the Pablo course.

Balls and putters.

Some really good and innovative holes.

A disco feel in parts too which was fun.

Sadly, after the lighting did for us inside, we probably won't return.

Totting up our scores from these games didn't seem to matter as much as getting out into the fresh air once we'd finished and getting as far away from the place as we could.

In a word ... Bizarre!

Lofty's crazy golf at Seaton Carew

Tried a new course today: "Lofty's" on the seafront at Seaton Carew.

It's not the first time we've played in Seaton Carew, you can read our blog post about the JD Golf Done mini golf here.

And what a little belter it is. It was a really busy little course, 9 holes with beautiful views out over the wide, sandy beach.

Each hole was inspired by a Hartlepool / Seaton Carew landmark such as the train station...

... the HMS Trincomalee ship, which you can view at Hartlepool Marina...

...and the blue and white stripes of Hartlepool football club.

We really enjoyed this course. It was fun, friendly and in a beautiful spot. Would highly recommend it.

At the end of the nine holes was a chance to win a free game. Sadly, neither of us won this time.

Scores today were Sunny Jim 29, Flaming Nora 33.

However, Flaming Nora did get a hole-in-one and Sunny Jim didn't.

Mind you, Flaming Nora did take 9 shots on one hole, that's why she didn't win.

Never mind, there's always next time!

Lost World Adventure Golf at Tynemouth Park

To gorgeous Tynemouth yesterday for a game of adventure golf on the Lost World course. Regular readers may recall we've played here before and on checking our blog posts, we find it was way back in 2015. You can read about our first visit, here.

Well, it's now seven years on since that first visit and we're back!

It's a beautifully landscaped course with ponds and lots more water - some of shooting at you when you least expect it. We should have known, of course, we've been there before but we still ended up getting soaked!

It's a game of two halves. There are 2 x 9 hole courses so you feel you're getting twice the value for your money. Clever.

It's fun, a fast course and has some lovely plants and flowers around, did I mention the water?

And there are plenty of dinosaurs in this lost world.

And plenty of water! Some of the holes warn you that your ball may end up in the pond - ours did, many times. Fortunately, there are lots of fishing nets to fish the balls out of the ponds with.

All in all, a great course, really fun. A great cafe for ice-creams, lunch, snacks on site too. And a smashing spot by the beach.

Saltburn Mini Golf at Saltburn-by-the-Sea

To beautiful Saltburn-by-the-Sea on the North Yorkshire coast for a lovely day out this week. Sadly, each time we go to Saltburn, the funicular is out of order!

But we played a round of crazy golf on a course we'd played many years ago, when it first opened.  You can read about that visit here, back in 2016.

The course is right by the beach in a beautiful scenic spot. It has 9 holes and is seaside-themed. It's a good course, fast to play and is more tricky than it looks.

They'd ran out of scorecards and instead gave us a paper bag and a pen. Loved this little touch!

Here's more of the course...

And more of gorgeous Saltburn. If you get a chance to visit, do.

And here's Saltburn Mini Golf again.

At the end of the course, there's a lucky 10th hole. Hit the spot, the music plays and if you're lucky you win a free game.

Yup, we won a free game! Looks like we'll be back in Saltburn in the future, it's a gorgeous place. Just hope the funicular's working next time.

The Forgotten Garden Golf at The Alnwick Garden

We visited gorgeous Northumberland for a few days and stayed in Alnwick.

Visiting the Alnwick Garden, there's a crazy golf course on the way in. You don't need to pay to go into the gardens in order to play the golf.

Oddly, it was a 13 hole course, but it was a lot of fun, nicely landscaped and set in lovely wooded grounds.

Hope you enjoy our pictures from the course, below
